Your donation to Chonon Nita Church makes a profound impact on both the lives of people here in the US and those living in Peru. In the US, your support enables us to create scholarships and financial assistance to those who need healing, as well as develop initiatives that raise awareness about healing plant medicines, the rainforest and the indigenous communities residing within it.
Through these efforts, we empower individuals to understand the importance of preserving the rainforest and respecting the cultural heritage of its inhabitants. In Peru, your contribution facilitates direct assistance to indigenous communities in and near to Pucallpa, providing essential resources for healthcare, education, food, and sustainable development projects.
We support our elders and the maestros of the Shipibo-Mahua lineage who often times live in below standard housing and because they have moved out of the jungle and into the city have less food security. These are the people who have shown us this precious medicine which is healing our culture, and we feel the strong pull to give back and continue this healing circle.
Your donation serves as a catalyst for positive change, fostering a deeper connection between communities across borders and promoting a more sustainable future for all.
Presently we are working on The Quiet Muffler project where our team is developing a muffler which silences the loud engine noise on the boats that frequent the river, and on the generators that often power the villages. See article here.
We are grateful to be able to help the Shipibo people in and around Pucallpa, Peru become better equip to sustain themselves and their families for generations to come. And we are grateful for their medicines and how they help us move through pain and heal ancestral trauma securing the future generations of our families, our children here in the west.
Remember we are each of us the medicine. When we heal the whole world is healed. Just like when a spider moves in her web, the entire web moves, when we heal the whole world is healed.
