Quiet the Rainforest:
A Call to Support the Shipibo People

Help us protect the sacred sounds of the Amazon.

Deep in the heart of Peru’s rainforest, the hum of boat engines now drowns out the songs of the birds, the flow of the river, and the prayers of the people. The Shipibo-Conibo, guardians of ancient wisdom and medicine, rely on these waterways for life, trade, and connection, yet the rising roar of un-muffled motors is disrupting the delicate harmony between humans and nature.

The Human Cost of Noise

For many young men, their boats are their livelihood, used every day for fishing, transport, and trade along the Ucayali River. Without mufflers, these motors create a constant assault of sound that damages hearing and leads to tinnitus and other forms of audio impairment. The effects ripple through families: the noise disturbs sleep, conversation, and the sense of peace that has always defined life by the river. What once was a place of song and prayer has become a place of relentless vibration.

Our Mission: To Quiet the Rainforest and Strengthen the People

Chonon Nita Shipibo Church of North America — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit — is raising funds to support sustainable, heart-centered initiatives for the Shipibo people of Pucallpa, Peru.

We Are the Bridge Between Realms

Chonon Nita means “Sweet Bird” — a bridge between the ancient and the modern, the forest and the world beyond.

Your donation echoes far beyond the riverbanks; it ripples through generations of healers, teachers, and children who carry forward the Shipibo song of life.
